Anger Causes Disturbed Prayer

Anger can cause of disturbed prayer.  Let our anger build up and it can block our communion with God.  Let resentment and hostility pile up and it will become a mountain between us and God.

There is a word of scripture to husbands about disturbed prayers.  The Apostle Peter (1 Peter 3:7) that tells husbands to treat their wives with consideration and respect "so that nothing will hinder your prayers."

Our spirits take on emotions like colored die in water.  Anger that has filled our spirit blocks our relationships; blocks love.  People will sense when anger has become the color of our spirit.  They sense when we have become an angry, bitter or hostile person.

Being able to tune in and listen to God is essential to inner healing using listening prayer.  When listening prayer is blocked by anger, this block to prayer must be removed.  I use what I call The Proclamation Prayer.

A Proclamation Prayer goes something like this.  "Jesus I know that I have a lot of anger in my spirit.  I choose to release that anger in to your care.  Please, Jesus, be Lord of my anger.  Be Lord, Savior, Healer and Delivered of my anger."

After this I could lead my client into listening prayer to discover the source of the anger.

However, anger is the number one block to Listening prayer so be sure to clear up anger, including anger at God as for as possible to enable listening prayer.
